death joins the digital age

So. How would you feel, if you came home to spot this in your In Box?

Click to open fullsize image. And yes, my given name is Eric, but don’t tell anybody.
Good thing I checked my Junk folder – I almost missed this.
So um. Talk about confirmation links you probably do not want to click on. (Or maybe it works the other way? Like, “If you are not yet dead, or do not wish to die, please click here to opt out”?)
Actually, the more I think about this, the funnier it gets. But just in case there’s something important I’m missing here, it’s been nice knowing all of you.
i don’t know what that pic is supposed to say, but i’m guessing it’s supposed to say something about you dying or something? or i’m stupid and don’t know how to read a photo?
Well, maybe it’s only funny to me. I guess you sort of have to use your imagination a bit, but essentially, it’s an email, that says it comes from Death, and the subject line is Confirmation link, so I’m picturing those emails you get when you’ve signed up for something and you need to follow the confirmation link to… you know, confirm it, and… I dunno. It sort of made me think too about how it’d be funny if you got these email reminders from Death like you do when you’ve got a appointment or flight or something scheduled, or (better) when you’ve got like a 401k at work and they send you occasional helpful emails like “Are you planning for the future?”, except, see, this one’s from Death… see…
Meh. Okay I guess it probably is just me that finds this strange and amusing.
so yeah, now the photo is coming up clearly and i see the humor in it.
i must have regained my ability to read. i can reeeaaaddd!
