amphichon to ie: drop dead

Well, it’s a little irritating, but my new format has been extensively tested and works perfectly in Firefox for Windows, Firefox for Mac, Safari and Camino. It’s fully standards-compliant and contains no errors.
But IE can’t figure out how to show it correctly.
I am inclined to think that the problem is with IE. But I’ll review the sidebar later and see if there’s any adjustments that I can make without compromising the rest of the page. (The image pane formatting is pretty tightly wedged in there, so I suppose it could be that IE thinks it doesn’t fit and has to be pushed down where there’s more room.)
In the meantime, as I’ve said before, if you have problems viewing my site in Internet Explorer, the optimal solution is to switch to Firefox. If that’s not an option and you’re stuck in IE, for the moment bear in mind that the “sidebar” is actually being rendered at the bottom of the page. That section is supposed to be at the right of the article text, as it appears on some of the other pages.
UPDATE: Okay, well, IE users should be set for now I suppose. The problem comes down to the fact that spacing in the sidebar is quite tight, and IE and Firefox are interpreting the CSS border directives differently, so it was hard to get them both to fit into the same space. Removing the border seems to make both Firefox and IE happy, so though I think it’d look a little better with a border, I’ll remove it for now.
