		<description>Well, as of this week, the Senate did not pass the bill as it came to them from the House. Ted Kennedy was quoted earlier in the week as saying they will NOT vote for the bill and he was true to his word. NPR this morning says that it puts the dems in a pickle since saying they voted against the minimum wage is a quick sound bite but saying they voted against a huge tax reduction for the wealthy is a not quite a sound bite. I'm not sure I agree with that but we'll see in ~100 days.

This whole game is getting pretty pathetic. The questions I have for republicans are these: after 6 years of a republican congress and presidency, shouldn't we be living in paradise? Why are so many things (the deficit, the wars in Iraq &#38; Afghanistan, Katrina response, etc.) fubar'd? They have total control; they can't blame the democrats, altho they sure still try. 'Tis a puzzlement.</description>
