netflix plugin woes
August 9th, 2005 by herichon
Okay, so the Netflix plugin broke, but only halfway. The recent stuff works fine, but the queue stopped working, and it’s got me pretty much stymied. It worked fine last week, and the RSS feed still appears to work fine, and the code never changed, but – bizarrely – it’s throwing errors now. (See lower right sidebar for evidence of this, unless it starts working again, in which case – yay! never mind!)
Anyone feel like poking around in PHP? Let me know. I think I should probably take the opportunity to clean up this code anyhow, since it’s sort of clumsy. Also it would be nice to be able to break out recently returned movies from currently out movies, and that’s an easy enough change. Probably what I should do, since the original author doesn’t seem to have edited in the last couple of months, is just set up a page so I can solicit input from anyone else that wants to play with this plugin. Keep an eye out for that then.
UPDATE Okay so I made a page dedicated to this plugin – see sidebar or click here.
UPDATE THE SECOND Okay so the code is mostly rewritten, I’m sure there’s a bug or two lingering but it seems to be working okay for the moment. New version and some development notes are on the page linked above. And now I think I can finally get some sleep.
