Yes, so, here we are again. What is this, journal mark eleven or so? I don’t suppose anyone’s keeping track besides archive.org (though I wouldn’t mind if they’d strategically forget some of my early web forays).
Anyway. I’d been feeling the itch to play on the web again, and this time I thought I’d try a few new things. Capital letters, for example. (Though I won’t promise any kind of consistency on that.) Also I wanted the freedom to host on my own space and to tweak heavily as needed, so after some experimenting I went with the excellent WordPress as CMS. MovableType and GreyMatter both came in close seconds but something about WP’s simplicity and flexibility rubbed me the right way. (I might have to play a bit more with GreyMatter in the future though, there’s a lot to like about it.)
What you can expect to see here? At first, mainly thoughts on events (personal or otherwise) and media (books, movies, websites, software, games etc). There might occasionally be a political rant or two but they’ll be clearly marked as such for your ease of avoidance. (You’re welcome. Besides, I’m basically sitting out politics until 2007 or so.) At some point you might see some original writing here and there. You also might see some photos, since I am going to try to carry my camera around a bit more.
Yeah I know, it sounds pretty boring to me too. But hey – look, it’s all so shiny and new.
